QuiltUniversity.com offers online sewing and quilting classes. I was drawn to a few of the appliqué classes and signed up for one with instructor Susan Brittingham called Flower Power. There are 5 classes with a new one opening each Friday.

In this class, we are going to examine a number of ways to use appliqué and embroidery to capture and recreate images of flowers and add them to our quilts. We will look at a variety of techniques, including the spontaneous free-form collage method, quick and easy fusible appliqué, and the complexity of freezer paper and upside down appliqué. We will add embellishments and details with embroidery and dimensional surface design.

I picked a single lotus flower as my class project and will share my progress.
