The Pillow Talk {Swap}

I can’t stop joining SWAPS!! I had so much fun with the Urban Modern swap, that I joined another swap hosted by the same group – The Pillow Talk {Swap}. Those who join love to make {and receive} fabulous home dec pillows (using designer fabric). I joined round 4 and now wish I had joined earlier – I’m in awe of all the pillow designs!

For my partner ... My partner loves bright colors, especially orange, and also seemed to have a thing for trees. I used paper-piecing to put together “string” blocks in bright orange, blue and green colors. My partner mentioned a few designers she liked, so I added Urban Circus fabric to make it extra special. I created the tree with applique and free motion quilting/stitching to give it a swirly in-the-wind look to offset the straight lines. It’s a monster and requires a 22″ pillow form – oops! And for fun, I added leftover Urban Circus fabric, some photocards that my stepfather took of fabric postcards I made, and a set of bright coasters. And by coincidence, it matches the pillow she got in round 3!

From my partner ... My partner spoiled me with this fabulous package all the way from Germany! Not only did I get TWO pillows, but a cute doll and extra goodies too!! The detail on the pillows is just fabulous – the picture doesn’t do any justice. And I just love the cute “petals” on the side of Pillow Apple … I will definitely have to use that in future projects. And the gnomes mixed in with orange, blue and white totally capture my style – Thank you so much!!
